Sandiswa Gloria Mandzebe cares for 50 children between two and five in her tiny RDP house in Storms River: “I am busy negotiating a plot of land in order to build a crèche for my community. There is no proper building for the care of pre-school children. Apart from the 50 who come to my house at present there are at least 20 children who are not being properly cared for during the day. There is a lot of unemployment and so children are missing meals and parents can’t pay fees.”
